International Orientation

The Western Sydney International Orientation program will help you in your transition to university and to a new chapter of your life: a new environment, a new culture, and a new way of learning.

GET READY TO START

The commencement of your study at Western Sydney University is fast approaching!

Use our starting at Western checklist to ensure you get the best start to your studies with us!

Make sure to also check out our Orientation dates page for more information on your upcoming orientation sessions.

1. ACCEPT YOUR OFFER

The first step to becoming a student at Western is to accept your offer.

The Western Sydney International Admissions team work tirelessly processing applications, issuing offers and working with future students to help them realise their educational goals with Western Sydney University. If you still need to formally accept your offer to enrol and finalise your timetable before the start of session, watch the ‘How to accept your offer video’ now.

If you have a question regarding your offer, the acceptance process or about your visa, visit the below links for more information.

Note: You must accept your offer and pay required fees as stated on your Offer Admission letter to receive your Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE). When you receive your CoE you can progress to the following steps.

2. ACTIVATE YOUR ACCOUNT

If you've accepted your offer and received your confirmation of enrolment (eCOE), the next step is to activate your student account (Western Account).

This will give you access to all our online services, including your student email account, My Student Records (MySR), the Library and more. You'll need your Western Student ID number.

You can find this number on your Offer of Admission letter.

If you have a question about activating your Western Account, please contact International Admissions via email or call +61 2 9685 9280 during 9:00am-5:00pm AEST Mon to Fri.

Student Email

Email is the official communication channel at Western Sydney University. We send important information about your enrolment, exams, results etc to your student email account, not by post, so it's important that you check it regularly - every day if you can or at least twice a week. Your student email address is studentid@student.westernsydney.edu.au

3. ENROL IN YOUR SUBJECTS

Enrolling in your subjects is the most important thing you need to do when starting at Western Sydney University. You need to complete this in My Student Records (MySR).

To select your subjects, you will first need to find your program on the Academic Handbook page. When you search for your program, click on 'sequence' for the current recommended subject selections for your session.

International Students

Before registering into subjects, International Students must accept their offer and activate their account. Please view the How to Accept page for step by step instructions.

Enrolment and Class Registration Help

For enrolment and class registration support you can contact the Student Services Hub via phone on +61 2 9174 6905, via WhatsApp on +61482095590 during 9:00am - 4:30pm AEST or email internationalstudy@westernsydney.edu.au

4. FINALISE YOUR CLASS REGISTRATION

Class Registration is how you choose your tutorials (and other classes) and put together your timetable. Allocate+ is the online system used to complete this process.

You'll need to make sure you are enrolled in all of your subjects. After being allocated into your classes, you may be able to swap classes depending on availability.

If you have just completed your enrolment, it may take a couple of hours for your subjects to appear in Allocate+. Check back later if they do not show up in Allocate+ immediately after enrolment.

Important additional information to do with Class Registration can be viewed on our Class Registration page.

Note: After your timetable is complete, if you have been allocated to an on-campus class and not able to attend due to an underlying health condition, please contact your First Year Experience Coordinator to discuss the options available to you.
